Accent light, not a ceiling light.
These lamps give between 1 and 180 lumens depending on the model, when an ordinary ceiling bulb gives around 800. So this is accent and night-safety lighting, and that is exactly what it is asked to do:
- Never being in complete darkness during an outage
- Seeing where you walk: hallway, stairs, bathroom at night
- Keeping a bedside lamp, a light in a child's bedroom
- Lighting the inside of a wardrobe, a cabinet, a dressing room
To light the whole house back up during an outage, you need a generator or a solar station. Our standalone lamps take care of the rest: the bedside light, the hallway, the stairs, the one that has to stay on when everything else goes off.
Two types not to be confused. The rechargeable models (bedside lamps, magnetic night lights, wardrobe light bars) have a battery and keep on lighting when the power goes. The plug-in models have no battery: they go out with the power. We always tell you which is which.
